Jibraan is born
Jibraan was born in 2006, the eldest of three children. He grew up with a love of maths and physics, skiing, swimming, ice hockey and rugby, alongside his cheeky sense of humour and love of challenging those around him.
About the foundation
A registered charity in England and Wales (No. 1211737), built in memory of our 18-year-old son Jibraan — who we lost in November 2024 to sepsis during his leukaemia treatment.
Jibraan’s Legacy
Our son, Jibraan, was just 18 years old when he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) in August 2024. Throughout his treatment, he showed incredible courage and resilience, overcoming many challenges and even reaching remission. Tragically, while preparing for a life-saving stem cell transplant, he developed sepsis during chemotherapy and passed away in November 2024.
Losing Jibraan changed our lives forever. While we cannot change what happened to our son, we wanted to create something positive from our loss—something that could help protect other families from experiencing the same heartbreak. That is why we established the Jibraan Chaudhary Sepsis Research Foundation.
Everything we do is inspired by Jibraan’s strength, kindness and determination. His legacy lives on through the research we support and the difference we hope to make for patients and families for generations to come.
Jibraan’s Legacy
The Foundation is a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1211737). This matters to us — it gives our work credibility, guardrails, and a clear framework by which we govern ourselves.
Our trustees all work for the Foundation voluntarily, and no operational costs are taken from any donation. Every pound raised goes directly toward our purpose. Trustees have been appointed both for the professional skills they bring and for their personal connection to Jibraan.

Since launching the JCSR Foundation, we have been focused on laying the foundations for meaningful, long-term impact. We have established the charity, built a dedicated team of trustees, developed our research strategy, and begun raising awareness of chemotherapy-associated sepsis through our website, fundraising initiatives and community engagement.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we are continuing to grow our fundraising efforts while building relationships with leading researchers and clinicians who share our vision. Every event, donation and conversation brings us one step closer to funding pioneering research that has the potential to improve outcomes for cancer patients around the world.

“I have over ten years of experience in organising, promoting and hosting fundraising events for charities whose activities range from building homes, school and hospitals for the poor in developing countries to raising awareness of breast cancers in the UK’s ethnic communities. As a DJ on local community radio shows in Southampton, Glasgow and national coverage in the UK, I have built a network of emerging and established artists that I hope to get involved with the JCSR Foundation and raise as much as possible to help build my son’s legacy.”
